Account Deletion Policy

Last updated: August 2026

You can delete your Bookify Malta account and the data it holds at any time. This policy explains how to do it, what gets deleted, what we keep and why, and how long it takes.

1. How to request deletion

To delete your account, email us from the email address registered on your account at legal@bookify.mt with the subject “Delete my account” and confirm the business name. For security we may ask you to verify ownership of the account before processing the request.

We aim to process deletion requests within 30 days of confirmation. Where a request is simple and fully verified, it is usually done much sooner.

2. What we delete

  • Your account and login credentials;
  • Your business profile, services, categories and settings;
  • Your client records and phone numbers;
  • Your booking history and logs;
  • Staff accounts you created and their access;
  • Pending SMS reminder tasks for your bookings.

Deletion covers the platform data held by Bookify Malta and our processors, and happens in line with the GDPR right to erasure.

3. What we keep, and why

A few things are kept after deletion because the law or the nature of the data requires it:

  • Invoicing and payment records: kept for the period required by tax law (Maltese VAT and accounting rules), so we can issue and support your past invoices. These records do not include client booking data.
  • Security and fraud records: kept only as long as necessary to protect the platform and its users.

Anything we keep is limited to what the law requires or genuinely needs, and is never used for marketing.

4. Deleting a staff member instead

If you only want to remove a staff member, you do not need to delete the whole account. You can remove staff access from the staff section of the platform, or ask us to do it for you by email. Removing a staff member deletes their login access while keeping your business data intact.

5. Your clients’ data

If you delete your account, your clients’ personal data is deleted with it as described above. Before you close your account, you may want to tell your clients so they can keep their own records if they need to. If one of your clients asks you to delete their data, you can remove that client from the platform directly, and we will help on request.

6. Deleting data before cancellation

You can also export or remove individual records at any time while your account is active, without closing it. Email us if you need help removing a specific client or set of bookings.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to request erasure of your personal data. We honour that right as described here. You can also exercise your other rights (access, correction, restriction, portability) at any time by emailing legal@bookify.mt.
