Cancellation & Refund Policy
Last updated: August 2026 · v1.0
This policy explains how you can cancel your Bookify Malta subscription and when refunds apply. Bookify Malta is built around no lock-in contracts: Basic is free forever, and Pro is free for your first 3 months. You can leave whenever you like.
1. Cancelling your subscription
You can cancel your paid plan at any time by emailing info@bookify.mt with the account email address. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep full access until then. There are no cancellation fees and no minimum terms.
2. Refunds
In short:
- No partial refunds mid-period: if you cancel partway through a billing period you have already paid for, you do not receive a pro-rata refund for the unused days.
- Fault on our side: if we fail to provide the service for a sustained period due to an error on our side, we will refund the affected period on request.
- Duplicate or erroneous charges: we will refund any charge made by mistake, in full.
- Statutory rights: nothing in this policy limits your non-waivable rights under Maltese or EU consumer law.
3. Free trial and downgrades
When your free Pro trial ends, your account reverts to the free Basic plan rather than being charged automatically. We never start charging you without you choosing a paid plan. If you downgrade, existing bookings already in your calendar continue to work.
3a. Consumer right to withdraw
If you subscribe as a consumer (rather than in the course of your trade, business, craft or profession), you have a right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of starting it, without giving a reason, under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and Maltese consumer law. To withdraw, email info@bookify.mt within the 14-day window and we will refund any amount paid for the period after your withdrawal. Subscriptions taken by businesses in their commercial capacity are business-to-business arrangements to which the consumer withdrawal right does not apply.
Goodwill exception — first-time annual subscribers. Even where the consumer withdrawal right does not apply (because you subscribed in a commercial capacity), if you are subscribing for the very first time to an annual plan, you may request a full refund of the annual fee within 14 days of the original charge. This goodwill window applies only to your first ever annual subscription and if you have not made more than 5 bookings through the platform during the 14-day window. After 14 days the standard cancellation terms apply.
4. Billing and invoices
Paid plans are invoiced by Bookify Malta and sent to the billing email on your account. Bookify Malta does not currently use a third-party payment processor or accept online card payments — invoices are settled by bank transfer or another method agreed with us directly. All prices shown are exclusive of Maltese VAT; 18% VAT is added on top of the monthly subscription price and itemised on each invoice.
5. What happens to your data after cancellation
After cancellation you can export your data during the notice period. When your access ends, your client data is deleted in line with our Account Deletion Policy, subject to legal retention obligations (for example, invoicing records kept for tax purposes).
6. How to request a refund
Email info@bookify.mt with your account email, the invoice number (if you have it) and a short explanation. We respond within 5 working days. Approved refunds are returned by bank transfer or another method agreed with us directly. If we cannot resolve a complaint, you may contact the Office for Consumer Affairs (mccaa.org.mt) or the European Consumer Centre in your country of residence.
