Content & Intellectual Property Policy
Last updated: August 2026 · v1.0
This policy explains how names, logos, photos and descriptions are used in the Bookify Directory, the rights you confirm when you add content to your listing, and how to raise an intellectual-property concern.
1. Business names
Bookify Malta may use a business name factually to identify the business in a directory context. This is standard, honest commercial presentation, and it does not suggest sponsorship, endorsement, representation, partnership or official status.
Unclaimed listings show only the trading name, never marketing claims such as “best”, “trusted”, “official” or “verified”.
2. Logos and photos
We do not add a logo or photo to an unclaimed listing unless Bookify Malta has explicit permission or another clearly documented lawful right to use it.
After a listing is claimed, the uploader confirms that they:
- own the content or have permission to use it;
- are not infringing any third-party rights;
- have any permissions needed from people depicted; and
- are providing content that is accurate and not misleading.
We may remove content that infringes third-party rights or violates our Acceptable Use Policy.
3. Descriptions
We do not copy business descriptions from websites, Google, social media or other directories. Before a listing is claimed we publish no marketing description — at most a neutral, Bookify-authored category label that is factually accurate.
After a listing is claimed, the owner may write their own description under this policy and the Acceptable Use Policy.
4. Reviews
Reviews are outside the scope of the Directory in its current version. We do not publish reviews or ratings on listings. If reviews are introduced later, we will publish a separate review policy covering authenticity, moderation, illegal content, right of reply, conflicts of interest, removal and appeals before the feature launches.
5. Complaints about your rights
If you believe a listing infringes your trademark, trade name, copyright or other rights, email legal@bookify.mt with the listing URL, a description of your rights, and why you believe they are infringed. We acknowledge receipt within 2 working days and review the listing promptly, and we may hide the listing while we investigate.
Removal of content following a complaint does not mean the complaint was upheld; it may be a precautionary measure while the matter is assessed.
